Sue Ryder is a national charity providing health and social care services in local communities.
- 4 million hours of care each year
- 1.4 million home visits to people in need
- One of the largest providers of specialist palliative care in the UK
- Over 100,000 days of long-term residential care each year
- 6,000 volunteers support our work
We provide individualised, compassionate care services to people with end of life and long-term needs. We offer this in people's own homes, in the community and in our hospices and care centres. We also support families, friends and carers.
Through innovation and research we work to improve standards in long-term and end of life care. We have recently received government recognition for improving end of life care for people with long-term conditions and our research partnership with the University of Nottingham is extending skills and knowledge across the sector. We have piloted leading hospice at home services and holistic care management programmes for people with complex physical and psychological needs.
Our work goes beyond the UK. With fifty projects across 12 countries in Europe and southern Africa, Sue Ryder is positioned at the centre of an international health and social care partnership.
Our health and social care services are supported by the activities of our retail, fundraising and volunteering teams.
